birthdays vs christmas

Growing up, Christmas was hands down my favorite holiday. It still is. Even though, my birthday was all about me, and I managed to spread this into my ‘birthday week’ – it doesn’t hold a candle to Christmas. Christmas was absolutely magical as a kid. All the songs, Santa!, caroling at Church, the Christmas Eve service which always ends with Silent Night by candle light (a highlight as a child and no doubt a fire hazard!), opening one present on …

The hubby had an unexpected business trip to Beijing this month, that caused him to be away for 10 nights. Last night he swept back into town for all of 12 hours, in which he re-packed his suitcase with primarily the same things (winter clothes) and took off with our daughter to England for Christmas. Or the couch. Or my coffee table… I think this is progress! What artistic …

a performer at heart

Niamh loves an audience. Simple as that. She is absolutely ecstatic whenever anyone comes over, and in fact, thinks our friends are there to see her. Especially our friend Ted. Simply put, she is happier with a house full of people, convinced they are there to hang on her every word, giggle at every silly face, and most importantly, watch her dance around and do silly stunts. Last night, Niamh asked me to make a movie of her on my …
